This time, thanks to you, we were able to announce the second installment.
We would like to introduce a new series from the "jidai" project, which transforms "things that have outlived their usefulness" into "things that are desired"!
"Convert a fire hose into a bag" - New series from the JIDAI project now on sale!
This series began with the idea of giving new life to hoses that had exceeded their useful life and were scheduled to be discarded by the Sakai City Fire Department.
The fire hose has exceeded its useful life, but it still looks beautiful.
Although it does not comply with regulations, it still has great value as a material.
We discovered that the material itself is strong and can protect the contents well, so we thought it would be perfect for a bag and developed the concept.
We manufacture our products in our own workshop.
This is a workshop where bag craftsmen who are committed to our unique craftsmanship create genuine leather and fire hose products .
Located in Hannan-cho, Abeno-ku, Osaka, this old house is registered as a tangible cultural property. It is the heart of Waji's manufacturing process and is filled with warmth.
It is a space where you can realize your ideas without compromise.
First of all, its durability.
The hose is approximately 2mm thick and is lined with rubber to allow it to pump large amounts of water.
The outside is made of colorful patterned fabric.
The fire hose pattern varies depending on the year.
Some are accented with reflective tape.
Disassembled fire hoses are used on the front and back of the body to add an accent to the design.
Made primarily from supple washable leather, this stylish item is easy to use and sized to take advantage of the width of the hose!
A real fire hose is on display in the store!
If you're interested in seeing the real thing, or if you're a firefighting enthusiast, we look forward to your visit.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to display the entire fire hose, only a portion of it, but this is a rare opportunity for the public to see it up close.
So, in this "Jidai" project ,
Discarded fire hoses have been upcycled and reborn as shoulder bags, pouches, ID cases and more.
