alter's canvas fabric is made by collecting water repellent in a pool large enough to fit the entire width of one roll of canvas, and then immersing the fabric in the pool.
Once the excess water repellent is removed and the fabric is allowed to dry, the water repellent will have permeated into the spaces between the fibers, resulting in a super water-repellent fabric.
Check it out on a rainy day and you'll see the water droplets form into beads and roll away.
