waji's products, which symbolize "upcycled manufacturing," are being exhibited at a public facility in Setagaya Ward.

SDGs projects undertaken by a "professional manufacturing group"

The SDGs movement has prompted not only governments but also private companies, organizations, and even individuals to question whether their own activities are sustainable.

In this context, we at waji have interpreted the concept of "responsible consumption and production" in our own way, and are carrying out projects with the theme of ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.

Waji joined the Sakai SDGs Promotion Platform, which was led by Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, where Waji's headquarters and workshop are located, and has been holding discussions with manufacturing businesses in the city and working to turn leftover materials and prototype materials into creative products .

Waji's "Upcycled Manufacturing" is on display at Eco Plaza Yoga in Setagaya Ward

Eco Plaza Yoga , located in Yoga, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, is a recycling and cleaning awareness facility operated by Setagaya Ward Office.

It serves as a base for introducing initiatives related to reuse and recycling, and for projects in which local residents can actually participate.

This is the reuse corner.

Residents of Setagaya Ward can bring in items they no longer need at home that can still be used as intended, and instead of becoming waste, the items will be donated (for a fee or free of charge) to those who wish to reuse them.

Waji products are currently on display in one corner.

These eye-catching tote bags and pouches were made using prototype tennis ball materials .

The firm, thick and sturdy material has been transformed into a unique bag.

The tote bags are actually on sale now.

The leather tote bag and sacoche are symbolic items of the upcycling project undertaken by waji, which deals in many leather products.

This product actively uses leather that has not been used because it has noticeable scratches, scuffs, blood vessels, etc. on the surface , and creates value through design, such as embossing and shrink processing on the surface.

This is also on sale now.

This bag was made from surplus uniform stock.

The design emphasizes the flowing drape, and the combination with leather makes it a chic, iconic product that is suitable for everyday use.

This bag is made from warm materials and uses leftover yarn and prototype yarn.

The threads are handwoven by artisans to transform them into fabric. The fabric, which combines different materials, is the main focus of the garment, demonstrating its versatility.

Waji's challenge to transform "leftovers" into "desired items" and pass them on to the next generation continues.

We were approached by Setagaya Ward Office to exhibit at Eco Plaza Yoga, a place that symbolizes reuse, saying, "We would like to introduce waji's upcycling project."

"Responsible Consumption and Production"

Ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.

As long as we continue to manufacture, waji's challenge to face sustainability will continue.

Please continue to pay attention to us.
